Functionality, the use of state-of-the-art materials and technology, and aesthetics – these are the advantages of the ERGO series of axes recognised by the jury of the Good Design 2017 competition. The experts awarded Cellfast the top prize in the category Dom.
The Good Design competition is the country’s most important award in the field of design and innovation. It was organised by the Institute of Industrial Design for the 24th time, and the event was held under the auspices of the Ministry of Development and the Ministry of Ultura and National Heritage. The ERGO axes designed by the duo KABO&PYDO and Cellfast Design Group won the main prize in the most popular category ‘Home’, in which experts qualified over 40 products for the final. These included doors, windows, as well as wallpaper and fabrics, among others. We are honoured that our product has been recognised by an independent jury,” says Rafał Słabik, Sales and Marketing Director of Cellfast, “all the more so because at the very beginning of our work on the axe line we were met with the opinion that we would not come up with anything new,” he adds. In the meantime, a line of tools was created that is appreciated by experts and, above all, by customers.
We opted for innovative solutions and used the best quality materials. Before the axes went on sale, they were refined and tested by a special test group for almost two years.
The laureates of Good Design 2017 were selected by a distinguished group of experts, such as the vice-president of the Association of Industrial Forms, Professor Michał Stefanowski, the head of the Department of Product Design at the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdańsk, Professor Marek Adamczewski, and the creative director of the Institute of Industrial Design, Katarzyna Rzehak. In awarding the axes the title of Good Design 2017, the jury appreciated their functionality, as well as the use of state-of-the-art materials and technologies that take care of the user’s safety. The experts also paid attention to aesthetics, which creates an attractive market product out of ordinary tools. – ‘The award for the axes evoked a lot of positive reactions from the competition participants as well,’ says designer Tomasz Pydo, ‘This is all the more important for us, as there were some really sensational designs in the competition.
The post-competition exhibition will be presented until 3 December at the Institute of Industrial Design on Świętojerska Street in Warsaw. It can be viewed from Tuesday to Sunday. Admission to the exhibition is free.
The Good Design 2017 title, is another accolade for original design and excellent quality for Cellfast tools.
The ERGO LINE™ series of rakes, axes and sharpeners won recognition from the Council of Experts of the MUST HAVE 2017 plebiscite – one of the most important competitions during which experts evaluate the design of Polish products. The plebiscite was held on the occasion of the Łódź Design Festival. A brand new series of PASTEL™ gardening tools has also recently been launched on the market, which aroused great interest at the spoga+gafa fair in Cologne. – ‘We could really go wild when designing them,’ says designer Tomasz Pydo. – We created products that are light, unique and… elegant. Their unique design makes them a real eye-catcher for customers.
